Colon and Rectal Surgery

About Colorectal Surgery At BID Milton

Through its Center for Specialty Care and affiliated general surgeons’ offices, Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital–Milton (BID Milton) provides high-quality and compassionate colon and rectal surgical care, including minimally invasive surgery, in a convenient community hospital setting.

Common colon or rectal conditions treated surgically at the hospital include:

  • Bowel obstructions
  • Colon polyps
  • Colorectal cancers
  • Diverticulitis
  • Hemorrhoids

The colon and rectal surgery program is noted for its collaborative, team approach to care. Surgeons work closely with colleagues from anesthesiology, peri-operative surgery and pathology as well as gastroenterology and other medical specialties as needed.

A well-established surgical physician assistant program, featuring master’s degree-prepared PAs, greatly enhances quality of care and patient satisfaction by assisting with care post-operatively in the hospital.
