Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital Milton's Cardiac Rehabilitation Program is a multidisciplinary approach to improving and maintaining cardiovascular health. It is designed to help you and your family make the necessary lifestyle changes to improve the quality of your life and improve the health of your heart. These changes include reducing cholesterol and blood pressure, integrating regular exercise into your life, and decreasing stress. cardiac rehabThis program is ideal for patients recovering from heart attacks, heart surgery, angioplasty and/or angina. The program meets 2 times per week with sessions that include therapeutic exercise, stretching/relaxation, and nutrition education.  Participants attend educational sessions weekly on topics which include exercise and activities of daily living, stress management, healthy eating, anatomy and physiology of heart disease, risk factor modification, and medications.  The multidisciplinary approach includes a team of medical and clinical professionals including cardiologists, registered nurses, physical therapists, registered dietitians, and pharmacists who work together to restore, improve and maintain a healthy, active lifestyle for people with cardiovascular disease.

Most insurances offer Cardiac Rehabilitation as a covered benefit if you have a qualifying diagnosis.
