“Supporting the hospital enhances the community and community support makes it possible,” says Carol A. Fallon, a longtime Milton resident who gives back to Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital-Milton in several ways.
Carol first became active at the hospital over twenty years ago. “The first event I attended at the hospital was the Festival of Trees,” she said, referring to a past event in which decorated Christmas trees were donated and auctioned to raise funds. “I was so impressed with the hospital and what it was doing for the community that I knew I wanted to become involved. I wanted to make things even better,” stated Carol.
Since then, Carol has made it her calling to help improve the services provided at the hospital. She currently serves on the hospital’s Board of Directors and is the hospital’s Special Events Chair, working closely with the Development Office to oversee the hospital’s most successful annual fundraising events, the Spring Gala and Tee Off Golf Tournament. She was also a member of the Partner’s Circle during the hospital’s recent Generations Campaign, giving generously to support a major building expansion and renovation project.
Carol has seen first-hand how hospital improvements have re-shaped the community, “The hospital keeps getting better; a new state-of-the art operating room, a modern emergency department, and recently implemented digital mammography services, all provide better quality care.”
“We are extremely fortunate to have a quality healthcare facility right in our backyard. Being able to receive high caliber care close to home, without having to go downtown, is a great convenience that not many people have. With continued support and generosity from the community, we’ll continue to see BID-Milton improve.”
