Bolster your well-being and improve your quality of life

Behavioral Health at Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital–Milton

Good behavioral health is vital to your overall well-being. It affects how you feel. But it also plays a part in how you think and act.

At Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital–Milton, we’re dedicated to helping you be well in all aspects of your life. Doctors in different specialties work together to treat each patient in a coordinated manner. This ensures we are caring for the whole patient and considering all your health needs during your time with us.

To help you enjoy your best health, we offer several tools and resources and work together with community partners.

Psychiatry

Our psychiatrists diagnose and treat all types of behavioral illnesses. They provide personalized services in a safe and caring environment. These include counseling and managing medications.

Emergency Care

Our Emergency Department (ED) includes a separate behavioral health-sensitive treatment area. This offers a therapeutic environment for people dealing with substance abuse or a suddenly developing behavioral health issue.

We care for you or a loved one in this dedicated treatment area while you await placement in an inpatient behavioral health center. Professionals from the BILH Crisis Team help provide your care while you’re with us.

Social Work Services

If you’re a patient at BID Milton, our social workers may be part of your care team. These compassionate professionals provide counseling, education and assistance to you and your family. This may include support and community referrals for a wide range of issues:

  • Alcohol or drug use
  • Anxiety, depression and other behavioral health conditions
  • Coping with illness or a new diagnosis
  • Family members impacted by a loved one’s illness
  • Grief, loss and end-of-life issues
  • Violence, abuse or neglect in personal relationships or the community

Talking with others who are facing a similar situation can be good for your behavioral health. BID Milton offers a number of support groups for people dealing with different behavioral health challenges and those who care about them. Some of our support groups include:
