Edward “Ned” Corcoran, a Milton resident and civic leader, has been named the recipient of the Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital-Milton’s Charles C. Winchester Distinguished Community Service Award for 2017.
The Charles C. Winchester Award, named for longtime hospital and community volunteer Charlie Winchester, is bestowed upon those who possess Mr. Winchester’s remarkable traits: commitment, service and leadership. The award is presented annually at the hospital’s Spring Gala.
This year’s honoree, Edward “Ned” Corcoran, was chosen for his outstanding commitment to Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital-Milton and the Milton community. Ned is principal of Corcoran & Associates, PC, where he assists clients in developing and improving their properties. He is a leader of various preservation and town revitalization committees, has served as a Town Meeting member since 2006, was a past Milton Foundation for Education Vice-President and Celebration Co-Chair. He has also been a longtime and dedicated coach for Milton Little League, Milton Travel Basketball, and the Milton High School Rugby Team.
As a dedicated supporter of BID-Milton, Mr. Corcoran has served as the hospital’s golf tournament Co-Chair for many years, and is a member of the Board of Overseers and President’s Circle.
“Ned has been a leader in the Milton community and a strong supporter of BID-Milton for many years,” said Rich Fernandez, president/CEO of the hospital. “As a supporter of the hospital, he has displayed all of the attributes that made Charlie Winchester a respected community leader and has helped to improve local access to high-quality healthcare services. We are looking forward to honoring Ned and saying ‘thank you’ at the BID-Milton Spring Gala, Shining a Light on Outstanding Care, on May 6.”
